Optic Mount for the Auto Mag
Brian Maynard - Inventor
Patent Under Review

Optics are the latest and greatest thing in the world of firearms these days and suffice it to say, most gun owners want to stay up with the latest in accessories for their firearms. Auto Mag enthusiasts are by far no exception. And in fact, the cult following of these unique, collectable one-of-a-kind pistols are one of the most intensive groups out there when it comes to aftermarket accessories for their individual prized possessions.
The Auto Mag is a semi-automatic pistol that feeds on magnum force ammunition capable of some very impressive ballistics. They pack a punch, and the recoil is significantly more than your average 9mm and .45ACP. Couple that with the short recoil action design of the gun, the quick for and aft jolt as it cycles can tear up reticles in scopes and optics alike very quickly. A side mounted scope mount is just too bulky and cumbersome on the Auto Mag which leaves the owner hopeless of adding optics of any kind to his gun ... until now.
With Brian Maynard's experience in mechanical design, together with his understanding of magnum powered semi-automatic handguns, we believe we've developed an optic mount that will allow for an optic to be safely mounted on the Auto Mag pistol. We've done this by incorporating a shock absorbing system to the mount itself that decreases the jolting effect by approximately 40%. This amount of decrease brings the shock value down to that of an average 1911 pistol in .45 ACP chambering.
The R&D phase is complete, and a prototype has been submitted to the US Patent Office for review. We're awaiting a reply, hoping for a Patent Pending status. This will allow us time to further perfect the system without fear of someone running away with our design.
